The First Day
for the first day your piercing will be sore and red, some blood spotting is normal during this part of the process. it is important to reduce the spotting by eating a well-balanced meal before and after the piercing and avoid alcohol as this will thin the blood making bleeding and spotting a lot more likely!
for the first day allow a scab to form on the piercing as this is the body beginning to heal around a foreign object. however, make sure you clean the surrounding area once you get home with saline wound wash and kitchen roll.
Healing Process
for the next few weeks, your piercing will be tender and potentially red. It is important to clean the piercing area with saline wound wash and kitchen roll
Ensure you use saline wound wash as this is sterile and will not irritate the piercing itself. The one I recommend is NielMed which can be bought on Amazon, other options can also be purchased at any pharmacy
Make sure to use kitchen roll instead of cotton or towels as fibers can irritate the piercing which can lead to irritation bumps or infection.
Do not move or play with the piercing, It will not get stuck but you will end up knocking the scab off which can delay the piercing's healing or can cause issues such as irritation bumps, infection, or rejection.
keep the piercing jewelry that the piercing procedure has been done with, removing or changing it before the piercing has fully healed can cause issues such as the hole seizing up (this makes it next to impossible to put the jewelry back in ) infection, irritation, irritation form metals that are not suitable for new piercings and micro skin tears from trying to force a piece of jewelry through the hole

Additional infomation
for the piercing to heal as fast as possible here are a few tips we recommend.
For ear piercings, it can be very useful to sleep on neck pillows with your ear through the hole. this stops your piercing from getting knocked while you sleep. this is a really useful tip for side sleepers!
make sure your kitchen roll is not fibrous or doesn't break, as this can reduce fibers entering the piercing.
We do not recommend making your own salt water, as too much salt can dry out and irritate the piercing
after a few weeks if you feel your jewelry is too large you can ask your piercer to downsize the jewelry for you
for naval piercings make sure you don't wear clothes that put pressure on the piercing as this can cause irritation and rejection
your piercing should be healed within 3-6 months, we use this as a broad guideline for all piercings, even if a piercing feels or looks fully healed it's important to remember piercings heal from the outside inwards so while they may feel or look ready to change they may still be healing and removing them can knock back the healing process
when changing piercing jewelry make sure you use the correct gauge (thickness of jewelry) and go for reliable skin-safe metals such as titanium (this is what we pierce with), stainless steel, surgical steel, silver, or gold to avoid irritation.
